Illustration One half of the second term of illustration was dedicated to learning and using pastels. This was the first time that pastels were used in the graphic design program, and the idea pretty much fell flat on its face. I have to admit that I'm not the biggest fan in the world. It was my first time using them, and while it's always interesting to learn a new art medium, pastels suffer from two major problems; a) they're messy, and b) they're really messy. If you've never used them, think of dusty, yet oily chalk that gets everywhere; your hands, your face, the air, your lungs to have a better idea of what using them entails. We had three pastel projects but this one (the second) turned out the best.
