Blue Fuji This painting is based on a photograph (one of my favourites) that my friend Jason took. Have a look at the original to compare. He kindly gave me his permission to reproduce it in oil, and the blueness you see here is almost exactly how it looks in the photograph. I also wanted to paint it to improve on my old painting of Mt. Fuji, which looks a bit childish in comparison to this one. That old Mt. Fuji painting is one of three paintings that I set out to redo and improve upon in this set. The other two, which you will find in this post is my self portrait, and my painting of my youngest sister, Liz. |
