The fifth (and last?) in my series of girls in traditional Japanese kimono.
I told myself I'd do 5 of these, but I ran into a couple of problems.

First, looking back at the beginning of this series, I see that (modestly speaking) I've improved to the point where the earlier ones are (in my mind) inferior to the later ones, and no longer make up a decent set.
Second, I really enjoy doing these.

Seems I may have to do a few more.

There was no time to do this from my imagination, I needed it done before my art show (this Sunday, Nov. 8th to be exact) so I asked Flickr user Starfires if I could paint one of his photographs, and he kindly agreed. Check out the original version here.

Realism, especially facial features and skin tones, is becoming easier, but I still have the damnest time with hair. Something to work on.
