Flowers for Kumi
2010
Oil on canvas
15" x 18"
Not for Sale

Kumi had wanted a flower painting for a long time, so after a great deal of procrastination I finally managed to get one done for her. Green, white and grey isn't the colour scheme I would've chosen, but Kumi was very specific in this. However as it neared completion she wondered aloud if a bit of pink wouldn't help liven up its funeral-like look, prompting me to add some small pink berries here and there. Voila. Now I can cross 'still life' off my list of incompleted painting genres. (Don't hold your breath waiting for a bowl of fruit though.)
