Great Escapes Christmas in Canada 2005
(Entered Jan. 08, 2006)
  Recent Great Escapes:

Whew! Been exactly one month since I've updated, I don't think I've ever left it so long before. Anyway part of the reason is that I was in Canada for a good long 2 week vacation! I had such plans for my vacation, I was going to do some skiing and snowboarding, maybe go hiking as well but none of that happened. Partly it was my own laziness: it was cold outside, I slept in until noon everyday, etc. But it's also amazing how fast 2 weeks goes by. You think to yourself, "Two weeks? Tonnes of time!" but before I realized it was gone and I had a whole list of stuff not done. That's not to say I didn't have a good time, I had a great time and I already miss home and want to visit again. Just how did I spend my time then? Well I hung out a lot with family and friends. Here's the Beddall clan gathered together on Christmas morning (minus Tyler who's using my camera) in my parents new house, yep, they moved yet again!

Next is Tyler, Cathy and Annabelle who I got to see for the first time, cute huh? She's already six months old. Wonder if she'll even remember me next time I see her?

Hung out with some buddies on New Year's eve. We spent the evening and most of the night drinking, eating, talking and playing Pictionary (hilarious after a few drinks).

As well as socialize, I managed to get in a lot of quality eating that isn't possible to do in Japan. For instance, I went to Burger King a couple times (why did they have to go out of business in Japan?!), my favourite pizza restaurant 'Lorenzo's' (only once though, I wish I now I had scheduled in a second visit), Swiss Chalet, a roast chicken restaurant, and let's not forget a lot of good cooking done by my mom. As always, the traditional Christmas turkey dinner was amazing. On top of that, I must have gained at least 5 pounds pigging out on cake, cookies and various other baked goods. Time to hit the gym again!
