Random Musings Three Years
(Entered Jun. 04, 2006)
  Recent Random Musings:

It's that time of year again! On May 20th, my website passed the three year mark of it's existence. So how did things stack up against the last two years? Well as you can see from the graph below, if my website was a stock, an investor would be rich! Things continue to change and expand. I'm not posting as much as I'd like, but the content is bigger, more detailed and more interesting than before. Continue reading below for other more interesting facts.

three years

The number of visitors to my site continues to grow exponentially. The number of distinct IP addresses (different computers) that visited my site this year increased to 39997 from 10566 last year! Consider that in the first year there were only 2314 distinct IPs, not too shabby! Also if you want to see how bad my site was when I first put it up, check out this link.

Other facts? Monday has finally relinquished it's top spot to Thursday for the most popular day for visitors, followed closely by Wednesday. However, unchanged for 3 years, 8am to 9am continues to be the most popular time.

How do people find me? When visitors type words into search engines, far and away the most popular word that sends them to my site is 'harajuku', all because of that one little article I wrote about the crazy fashion found there. Coming in at #2 is 'style', pretty unexciting so far.... A very distant #3 is 'Japan', ok that's somewhat better. What else? Well 'crapper' comes in at #6 probably because of that silly story I wrote. 'Beddall' my own last name only manages to be the 11th most popular word. 'Cockroach' is 16th place, and interestingly enough, 'ass' is 18th. 'Mike' comes in at 20th, 'pizza' is 22nd, 'Tokyo' is 24th and 'Canada' is only 27th.

As for browsers, Internet Explorer is definitely the most popular for users visiting my site at something like 95%. People might rave about Mozilla and Opera but the fact is that IE still accounts for most of the people out there.

Anyway thanks to everyone who comments and checks out my site. Keep coming back as this year will be even better!
