Tokyo usually brings to mind images like endless grey buildings
squeezed together, smog, traffic, crowded trains and other wonderful
facts of ultra-urban living. However, there are a few places that
will surprise you. One of those is Meiji Shrine and Yoyogi park
which is situated beside one of the busiest stations in Tokyo: Shibuya.
Meiji shrine (park) is the more impressive of the two since there
are fewer people as well as more and taller trees. Here I am surrounded
by nature and peace (alone!) while the madness of rush hour is only
a 20 minute walk away. Those of you who were raised in houses that
actually had front and backyards will find it necessary to come
here or someplace like this every once in a while and just unwind.
