My recent art show resulted in my first commission! The only prerequisites I had to go by was that the paintings be both large and colourful.
The most time intensive painting I've done yet. Not only was it large, but the legs and all the suckers required a lot of attetion to detail. I decided to change the colours as well from a purple-grey to an orange/red-pink. Why an octopus? I've always liked them.
In my opinion this is the best painting I've done. It's also the largest with the length approaching one meter. A lot of people commented on how they like the blue of the water the best, (one person even thought he might like a painting with just the blue background only!) but I was surprised at how realistic the koi ended up looking.
