My sporting life now pretty much revolves around a frisbee, as most people who know me are aware of. Who needs balls or racquets anyway? First came ultimate, a dazzling sport of speed and dexterity, and then came disc golf which combines the sports of bowling, archery and... oh yeah, golf I guess. No speed or dexterity involved here, but definetely the fine art of concentration and aim are sorely needed.
Tokyo has two disc golf courses, one in Tachikawa (advanced with decent obstacles) and one in Tatsumi (more for beginners) which is where I'm at in these pictures (no I'm not a beginner, well on second thought maybe I am, sort of). The rules are pretty much the same as the original sport of golf, there are pars for each course and you try not to bogie. Unlike golf though, the courses usually have more obstacles such as trees directly in your path, forcing you to curve your disc around them. As well, instead of a small hole in the ground, disc golf uses a special basket (not shown here unfortunately) in which your disc must land.
Ahh, what better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than out in the crisp fall air (no winter here in Tokyo, sweet...) with friends competing hard in a game of disc golf!?
